About the Symposium
The annual GSA Research Symposium is held each year during the spring semester. This year's symposium will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014, in the BSC Multipurpose Rooms 170-173. The GSA Research Symposium is an event open to all SLU graduate students. Every department with graduate degree programs is encouraged to participate in this interdisciplinary forum. Each year's paper and poster presentations are divided into categories based on the distribution of the participants. Judges are selected from SLU faculty to represent the variety of disciplines. Monetary awards are given to the first, second, and third place papers and posters in each category.

The Annual Graduate Student Association Research Symposium of Saint Louis University will be held on Friday,
April  11,  2014,  in  the  BSC  Multipurpose  Rooms  170-173.  The  GSA  Research  Symposium  is  an  event  open  to
all  SLU  graduate  students.  Every  department  with  graduate  degree  programs  is  encouraged  to  participate  in  this
interdisciplinary  forum.  Each  year’s  paper  and  poster  presentations  will  be  divided  into  categories  based  on  the
distribution of the participants. Judges will be selected from SLU faculty to represent the variety of disciplines

The deadline for abstract submission is 5:00 pm on February 14, 2014.   You  must  submit  your
abstract electronically, via e-mail attachment, in Microsoft Word format. There is no submission fee for abstracts
and/or completed papers. Paper and poster abstracts must be submitted within the guidelines below for consideration
and inclusion in the Research Symposium program. PLEASE DO NOT ATTACH YOUR ENTIRE PAPER.
Notification of acceptance of abstracts will be sent along with detailed guidelines for poster or paper presentations.
A printed program of abstracts will be provided at the symposium.

Guideline for Submission of Paper and Poster Abstracts:

1. Students may be first author/presenter on only 1 submission.

2. Presenters must be graduate students at Saint Louis University

3. Abstracts must be titled (in the same way as poster/paper presentation).

4. In the first line of your abstract document; please follow the sample heading below:

(PROJECT TITLE IN CAPITALS), (authors’ first initial(s) and last names,
presenter’s name should be listed first and underlined), (department), (school/
college).

Example:

OCCUPATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTATIONS, D.A.Metz, and
B.E. English, Department of Occupational Therapy.
